KTR blames Revanth for Hyderabad floods, alleges Rs 1.5 lakh crore scam

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Saturday launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging that the CM intentionally let Hyderabad flood to justify the ₹1.5 lakh crore Musi River Beautification Project and collect commissions.

KTR said thousands of families lost their homes and belongings due to what he called “criminal negligence” by the state government. “Despite IMD flood alerts, the government didn’t release water from Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar on time. This delay created a crisis, giving them an excuse for a scam project,” he charged.

Citing the city’s history, KTR pointed out that the Nizam built reservoirs to protect Hyderabad from Musi floods over a century ago. “This is the first time the Imlibun (MGBS) bus stand went underwater,” he said, calling it a deliberate failure.

Shifting focus to Kodangal, KTR accused Revanth’s brother, Tirupati Reddy, of misusing influence without holding any official post. “In Kodangal, it’s not the CM but his brother who acts like one. He’s grabbing farmers’ lands for a factory linked to Revanth’s son-in-law,” he alleged. “Is Kodangal their private estate?”

‘Congress Debt Card’ launched to expose broken promises

KTR said the Congress failed to deliver on key pre-election guarantees signed by Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy, and Bhatti Vikramarka. “That’s why we launched the ‘Congress Debt Card’—to remind people what was promised but never delivered,” he said.

Irrigation projects sidelined for kickbacks, alleges KTR

He further accused the government of ignoring the near-complete Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project while pushing the ₹4,500 crore Kodangal Lift Irrigation Project. KTR claimed the project was approved only to benefit contractors Mega Krishna Reddy and Bambuletti Srinivas Reddy. He also warned that raising the Almatti dam height could dry out Jurala dam, citing a court stay on the plan.

‘Kodangal will decide Delhi’s fate’

Calling on voters, KTR urged a strong BRS mandate in upcoming local body elections. “If Kodangal switches off, Delhi will go dark. If Kodangal ties down Revanth, Delhi will tremble,” he said.

He endorsed Narendra Reddy as the candidate and said “Bring Back KCR” should start from Kodangal.
