KTR accuses CMRevanth of prioritising real estate over state welfare

Hyderabad: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on Wednesday accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of prioritising real estate interests over public welfare. He alleged that the Congress-led government is running a major land scam under the cover of industrial development.

HILT policy misused for private gain, says KTR

Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, where several BJP and Congress leaders from Kalwakurthy joined the BRS under former MLA Jaipal Yadav, KTR criticised the state’s land policies. He said the government is using the HILT policy to divert public land to real estate ventures.

KTR alleged that Revanth Reddy had already focused on Musi riverfront lands, Regional Ring Road areas, and Central University plots. Now, he claimed, the government is targeting industrial lands in Hyderabad.

“Land meant for industry and jobs is being sold at throwaway prices to private builders. They’re using it to build apartments and villas,” he said.

₹5 lakh crore in public land at risk

KTR claimed the government is handing over nearly 9,300 acres of industrial land to private parties. He estimated the land’s value at ₹5 lakh crore. “This is a massive transfer of public assets for the benefit of 500 to 600 people,” he said.

He warned that half the gains from these land deals would go into the pockets of Revanth Reddy and other Congress leaders. “This is not your family property,” KTR said, urging the immediate cancellation of the HILT policy.

BRS accuses Congress of betraying BCs

KTR also criticised the Congress party over BC reservations. He recalled that Congress had promised 42% reservation for BCs before the election. However, after coming to power, they reduced it to 17%.

The previous BRS government, he said, had provided 24%. “The Congress has deceived the BC community,” KTR said. He urged BC voters to hold the party accountable for failing on its promise.
