Hyderabad: Union Minister and Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy strongly objected to the leak of details from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s internal meeting with Telangana BJP MPs. He warned of strict action against those responsible.
Reacting to reports in the media, Kishan Reddy said claims that the Prime Minister had “taken class” of MPs were completely false. He dismissed such reports as baseless propaganda.
Last Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a breakfast meeting with BJP MPs from Telangana. Media reports later claimed that Modi expressed dissatisfaction over the party’s performance in the state. Some reports also said he criticised the MPs for failing to act as an effective opposition.
Certain reports further claimed that Modi compared the BJP’s social media performance with that of the AIMIM. These reports triggered speculation and internal unease within the party.
Kishan Reddy warns action over BJP meeting leaks
Responding to the claims, Kishan Reddy said the Prime Minister did not reprimand the MPs. Instead, he said Modi offered suggestions to strengthen the party. He added that the Prime Minister also advised MPs to stay more active on social media.
Kishan Reddy said leaking details of an internal party meeting was unacceptable. He warned that the party would take strict action once it identified those behind the leaks.
Meanwhile, the episode exposed internal differences within the Telangana BJP once again. Party circles are now abuzz with discussion over who leaked the meeting details and why.
