Jubilee Hills win not public mandate but misuse of power: Dasoju Sravan

Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan on Saturday accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of misleading the public by projecting the Jubilee Hills bypoll result as a public endorsement.

Sravan alleges abuse of official machinery in bypoll

At a press meet in Telangana Bhavan, Sravan said ruling parties usually win bypolls and such outcomes should not be spun as popular support. He alleged Revanth Reddy deployed 15 ministers, lawmakers, MPs, and even top police officials to sway the result.

He compared the reported irregularities to tactics often seen in Bihar, Rayalaseema, and Hyderabad’s Old City. He cited incidents ranging from an assault on a woman to ₹200 crore spent during the election. According to him, these instances revealed extensive misuse of power.

Congress accused of factionalism, vote manipulation

Sravan stated that voters supported Naveen Yadav, not Revanth Reddy. He criticised the Congress for denying tickets to previous candidate Azharuddin and Gaddar Jr. He claimed Revanth awarded positions only to close associates, sidelining senior leaders like Uttam Kumar Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarka, Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, Meenakshi Natarajan, and Nadeem Javed.

He said Revanth often insults Congress MLAs and leaders, using offensive language. Sravan accused him of colluding with BJP leader Bandi Sanjay to divert BJP votes to the Congress. He also claimed AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi helped secure bogus votes for the ruling party.

Sravan demands Rahul Gandhi’s response

He criticised Revanth for praising AIMIM in Telangana while blaming the party for INDIA bloc’s defeat in Bihar. Sravan listed unresolved issues under Revanth’s leadership, including the plight of Lagacharla evacuees, tree felling at HCU, house demolitions under Hydra and Musi projects, and contracts awarded to CM Ramesh.

He noted that the Election Commission received 20 complaints, yet took no action. Sravan also alleged that ministers Ponguleti, Uttam Kumar Reddy, and Rajgopal Reddy were all eyeing the CM’s post. He said some cabinet members were waiting for Revanth to fail and claimed internal rivalries were growing.

Sravan demanded that Rahul Gandhi address what he called the “death of democracy” in Jubilee Hills. He insisted that the win was not a mandate but a product of coercion, misuse of power, and political collusion.
