Journalists must keep pace with technology, says A. Narasimha Reddy

Hyderabad: Journalists must constantly adapt to emerging technology to remain relevant and responsible, said Cultural Affairs Director A. Narasimha Reddy.

He was speaking on Friday at the Telangana Media Academy auditorium in Nampally. There, the academy organised a two-day training programme for print and electronic media journalists from Nalgonda district.

While sharing his personal journey, Narasimha Reddy said he studied at a government school in Chityala mandal. He also spoke about several experiences linked to journalism and public communication. Therefore, he urged journalists to embrace learning at every stage of their careers.

Meanwhile, Telangana Media Academy Chairman K. Srinivas Reddy said the number of journalists using artificial intelligence tools was increasing steadily. According to him, mastering AI has become essential for professional growth in digital media.

Training focuses on digital media, AI and ethical reporting

At the same time, Srinivas Reddy noted that even ordinary citizens now share messages widely through social media. Hence, he advised journalists to exercise restraint and verify facts before publishing or broadcasting news.

As part of the training programme, experts covered several key subjects on the first day. For instance, Journalism College Principal Uma Maheshwar Rao spoke on rural reporting and electronic media practices.

Similarly, senior journalist Muddham Narasimha Swamy explained issues related to fake news, cybercrime, artificial intelligence and responsible social media use. In addition, senior journalist Govinda Reddy delivered a session on crime reporting.

Meanwhile, another session focused on the Right to Information Act, 2005. Senior journalist Dilip Reddy explained how journalists could use the law effectively in reporting.

During the programme, participating journalists raised questions through PowerPoint presentations. They also interacted closely with resource persons. Finally, Telangana Media Academy Secretary Nagulapalli Venkateshwara Rao and others attended the event.
