Imported drugs worth ₹40 lakh seized near Kachiguda, two arrested

HYDERABAD: Telangana’s Special Task Force, in coordination with the Excise Police, seized a substantial quantity of imported drugs, including OG Kush – a high-grade cannabis strain grown in Florida and California – and bottles of foreign liquor. Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.

Addressing the media at the Excise Bhavan in Nampally, Excise Enforcement Joint Commissioner Qureshi stated that the total value of the seized contraband is estimated at ₹40 lakh. The accused were apprehended near the Kachiguda Railway Station while attempting to exchange the drugs.

The operation unfolded after officers observed one of the suspects behaving suspiciously on a motorcycle. Soon after, another individual arrived in a Skoda car to deliver OG Kush. The duo was promptly intercepted by the task force and excise officials.

A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 500 grams of OG Kush, 1 kilogram of ganja, 6 grams of charas, 4.38 grams of synthetic drugs, and five bottles of foreign liquor.

The arrested persons have been identified as Pratish Bhatt and Jai Surya. Authorities confirmed that further investigation is currently underway.
