HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has announced a temporary water supply disruption in several parts of the city on February 17. The interruption is due to maintenance work at the Kondapaka Pumping Station under the Godavari Drinking Water Supply Phase-1 project.
Officials stated that 900 mm diameter valves will be installed on the 3000 mm diameter MS pumping main at the station. The work is scheduled to begin at 6 AM on February 17 and continue until 6 AM on February 18.
Areas Affected
Residents in the following areas are advised to store water in advance, as supply will be affected:
- Central and West Hyderabad: SR Nagar, Sanathnagar, Borabanda, SPR Hills, Erragadda, Banjara Hills, Vengalrao Nagar, Yellareddyguda, Somajiguda, Fatehnagar, Moosapet, Bharat Nagar, and Motinagar.
- Kukatpally Region: KPHB, Balaji Nagar, Hasmathpet, Chintal, Jeedimetla, Gajularamaram, Suraram, Bhagat Singh Nagar, and Jagadgirigutta.
- Secunderabad and Cantonment Areas: Alwal, Machabollaram, Defence Colony, Yapral, Bolarum, and Gunrock.
- Outer Hyderabad: Kompally, Gundlapochampally, Bachupally, Pragathi Nagar, Tellapur, Bollaram, and parts of Miyapur and Kondapur.
The Water Board has requested residents to use water judiciously during this period.
