Hyderabad Police launches ‘Operation Kavach’ with 5,000 personnel

Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar announced the launch of a large-scale operation named ‘Operation Kavach’. This operation aims to tighten law and order across Hyderabad starting Friday night.

Speaking to the media, Sajjanar said the city police will conduct simultaneous checkpoints at 150 key locations starting from 10 PM onwards. He described the drive as unprecedented in the history of the Hyderabad Commissionerate. It will involve over 5,000 personnel.

Multiple units are participating in this high-intensity operation, including Law and Order, Traffic, Task Force, Armed Reserve, Blue Colts, and patrolling teams. Their joint efforts aim to ensure city-wide vigilance and improve public safety.

Operation Kavach aims to deter threats and boost public confidence

The Commissioner urged all citizens to cooperate fully with the police during the checks. He also appealed to the public to report any suspicious movements by calling Dial 100 immediately.

“Your safety is our responsibility,” Sajjanar said, reinforcing that Operation Kavach is a proactive move to build a secure urban environment for all residents.
