Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Police destroyed seized narcotic drugs worth ₹4.56 crore in the first phase of drug disposal for 2025. The Drug Disposal Committee carried out the operation on Monday under the supervision of Detective Department DCP N. Swetha.
Hyderabad Police destroy over 1,200 kg of narcotics
Police officers said they destroyed 1,285 kilograms of narcotics, including 1,585.9 kg of marijuana, 159.4 grams of MDMA, 6.4 grams of cocaine, 4.6 grams of ecstasy pills, 4,450 ml of hashish oil, 4 LSD blots, and other psychotropic substances.
These drugs came from 128 NDPS cases registered between 2019 and 2025 across 26 police stations in Hyderabad. The disposal took place at GJ Multiclave (India) Pvt Ltd, a bio-medical waste facility located at Edulapalle in Nandigama, Rangareddy district.
Sajjanar shares video of drug destruction
Police Commissioner C.V. Sajjanar posted a video of the burning process on his official account on X. The clip showed officers overseeing the destruction under strict safety procedures.
Last year, the Hyderabad Police also destroyed narcotic substances worth ₹10.56 crore in two phases, covering 326 cases. This year’s operation marks the start of another strong drive against illegal drugs in the city.
