Hyderabad: Hyderabad Cyber Crime police arrested a YouTuber for allegedly creating and circulating child sexual abuse content on social media platforms, officials said on Thursday.
Police identified the accused as Kambeti Satya Murthy (39), a resident of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. According to investigators, he operated a YouTube channel named “Viral Hub” and uploaded objectionable videos involving minors aged between 15 and 17 years. In these videos, he allegedly posed obscene and sexually explicit questions to children.
Officials said that in one instance, the accused induced two minor children to kiss each other on camera. Police stated that the act amounted to sexual exploitation of children and a serious violation of child protection and cyber laws.
A suo motu case was registered on October 16, 2025, after cyber crime officials detected the circulation of abusive material online. Subsequently, technical analysis confirmed that the videos violated multiple legal provisions. Based on the findings, police traced the accused and placed him under arrest.
Police detail escalation of child sexual abuse content for monetisation
Investigators said the accused had been active on YouTube since 2018. Initially, he posted vulgar interviews with social media influencers to attract viewers. Later, police alleged, he escalated the content by involving minors to increase views and monetisation.
The arrest was carried out by a team led by Inspector S. Naresh, assisted by Sub-Inspector Suresh, under the supervision of Shiva Maruthi, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crime Police Station, Hyderabad.
Police said further investigation was underway to identify any additional violations and possible involvement of others.
