Hyderabad: Former minister and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and the BJP, alleging that the Congress government failed to deliver any development in Gajwel.
Participating in the Gajwel municipal election campaign, Harish Rao said the Congress had neglected the town for the past two-and-a-half years. He alleged that the government failed to take up even basic works. According to him, the administration did not fill potholes on Gajwel roads during this period.
Harish Rao said the previous BRS government under K. Chandrashekar Rao transformed Gajwel. He claimed the KCR government carried out extensive development works. However, he alleged that the Congress added nothing new after coming to power.

Referring to remarks by a BJP MP, Harish Rao rejected allegations of ₹50,000 crore corruption during the KCR regime. He criticised comments on Mission Kakatiya. He said BJP leaders spoke without understanding the programme’s impact during Gajwel municipal election campaign.
Harish Rao claimed land prices in Gajwel rose after KCR assumed office. However, he said prices fell after A. Revanth Reddy came to power, even as gold prices increased.
He alleged that the present Chief Minister was inaugurating buildings constructed during the BRS tenure. He also accused the BJP-led Centre of increasing milk prices and GST rates. According to him, the Centre failed to provide relief to the public.
Recalling the Covid-19 period, Harish Rao said he personally addressed public grievances. He alleged that Congress and BJP leaders remained inactive at that time. Calling on voters, he urged them to support BRS candidates in the municipal elections. He said voters should not get swayed by inducements from rival parties.
