Harish Rao slams Congress over poll code violations, lauds BRS workers

Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the Congress-led Telangana government, accusing it of large-scale electoral misconduct during the municipal election polling process.

In a statement issued via social media, Harish Rao said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with Congress ministers, MLAs, and local leaders, had committed repeated violations of the election code and grossly misused official power from the nomination stage through polling day.

Harish Rao on municipal polling: Congress resorted to intimidation and attacks

Harish Rao alleged that Congress leaders engaged in physical assaults and threats against BRS candidates. He described such actions as a disgrace to democratic values and a reflection of political degradation.

He also criticised certain police officers, accusing them of acting under political pressure and failing to enforce the law impartially. According to Rao, these officials appeared to operate as extensions of ruling party leaders rather than as protectors of the law.

He further stated that the Congress party, driven by desperation to win at any cost, had indulged in money power, manipulation, and conspiracies. However, he expressed confidence that the electorate remained unaffected by these tactics.

BRS leader thanks party workers and voters for their resolve

Despite the alleged pressure, Rao praised BRS leaders, candidates, and workers for showing courage and commitment on the ground. He thanked them for their efforts in supporting BRS nominees until the final vote.

Harish Rao also extended heartfelt thanks to every voter who cast their ballot for the BRS, affirming their trust in the party’s vision.
