Youth must be ready to sacrifice for the nation amid border tensions: Harish Rao

Hyderabad: Amid escalating tensions along India’s borders, former Telangana minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Harish Rao has called on the nation’s youth both young men and women to be mentally prepared for sacrifice in the service of the country.

Addressing a solidarity rally in support of Indian soldiers held in Suraram on Saturday morning, Harish Rao expressed deep sorrow over recent events in which tourists were allegedly murdered by terrorists based solely on their identity. He described the incident as one that shook the conscience of the nation.

Rao, a senior BRS figure, stated that the bravery of soldiers forms the very backbone of India’s strength. Their unwavering commitment, he said, is a matter of immense pride for every citizen.

He also emphasised the responsibility civilians carry during such times, especially in safeguarding the families of serving soldiers. “We must protect their families like our own eyes,” Rao said, appealing to the public to remain vigilant and united.

Highlighting the importance of national security, he added that retaliatory action against terror groups in response to attacks on Indian soil is both justified and necessary. “The safety of our citizens is paramount,” he said, urging all sections of society to support the armed forces in every way possible.
