Govt to disburse ₹304 crore interest-free loans to 3.5 lakh SHG women

Hyderabad: The Telangana government will disburse ₹304 crore in interest-free loans to 3.5 lakh women Self-Help Group (SHG) members across the state on Tuesday. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced the initiative during a video conference with district collectors held from Hyderabad on Monday.

He directed Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao and SERP CEO Divya Devarajan to alert ministers and MLAs in advance. He also asked them to coordinate implementation at the constituency level. Bhatti urged active participation from Mandal Samakhya, Village Samakhya members, and local leaders.

Interest-free loans to SHG women will be issued across all constituencies

He stressed that the distribution must take place simultaneously and with grandeur at every constituency headquarters. According to Bhatti, the Congress-led “People’s Government” revived the scheme after it was scrapped by the previous administration.

“This programme has restored confidence and courage among women across Telangana,” he said.

The Deputy CM noted that earlier phases of the scheme had already benefited many SHGs. He described the upcoming November 25 distribution as a major expansion of the state’s women empowerment efforts.
