Hyderabad: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said Himachal Pradesh heritage reflected natural beauty, spirituality and a strong cultural tradition during Statehood Day celebrations at Lok Bhavan in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
He addressed the gathering as part of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative. Many people from Himachal Pradesh attended the programme. The Governor said he had recently taken charge as Telangana Governor after serving in Himachal Pradesh. He said the hill state was known across India for its striking landscapes, cultural wealth and traditions of valour.
Shukla said Himachal Pradesh, widely known as Devbhoomi, stood as a symbol of spirituality, peace and harmony. He said the state continued to inspire people through its cultural depth and social values. He also said its folk traditions added to India’s larger cultural strength. According to him, traditional festivals, folk dances and diverse local customs kept that identity alive.
Himachal Pradesh heritage and development
The Governor praised the people of the state for their role in its development. He described them as hardworking and humble. He said they had contributed significantly to Himachal Pradesh’s steady progress. He also said the state had good roads, reliable power supply and abundant water resources.
Further, Shukla said Himachal Pradesh had made consistent progress in education, health and sustainable development. Because of that, he said, the state had emerged as a model for the country. His remarks placed Himachal Pradesh heritage alongside development and public welfare rather than culture alone.
He also underlined the importance of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative. He said the programme encouraged people to understand and respect the traditions of other states. Moreover, he said such celebrations strengthened unity, integrity and mutual cooperation. He urged people to do their part to make India stronger, more prosperous and self-reliant.
Cultural performances held during the event drew a strong response from the audience. The presentations highlighted Himachal Pradesh heritage and added to the Statehood Day celebrations at Lok Bhavan.
