Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar said the State government will begin Godavari Pushkaralu preparations a year in advance to ensure smooth arrangements for devotees. He reviewed the Pushkar Ghat works at Dharmapuri and held a meeting with officials on the preparations.
The minister said the government aims to conduct the festival on a grand scale without causing inconvenience to pilgrims.
Godavari Pushkaralu works get ₹117 crore boost
Adluri Laxman Kumar said the government has allocated ₹117 crore to improve facilities at major pilgrimage centres, including Dharmapuri and Kotilingala. The works will include ghat development, road widening, drinking water facilities, sanitation systems and rest centres for devotees.
He said the government has drawn up the plans after reviewing the difficulties devotees faced during the previous Godavari Pushkaralu. Accordingly, officials will strengthen crowd management, traffic regulation, medical services and emergency response systems.
The minister said experienced consultancy agencies will assist the government in executing the works in a planned manner. He added that the State government and district administration will work together to make the festival a model spiritual event for the country.
Adluri Laxman Kumar said officials are monitoring the preparations regularly. He added that the government will provide the best possible facilities for devotees during the festival.
