Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) held a “Happy Streets” event at Sanjeevaiah Children’s Park on Sunday to promote the theme “Clean & Green Hyderabad.” The initiative aimed to raise awareness about sanitation, responsible waste disposal, and environmentally friendly habits among citizens.
Khairatabad Zonal Commissioner Anuraag Jayanti participated in the event and urged residents to take an active role in urban cleanliness. Children were a key focus of the programme, with activities designed to instil early awareness about sustainable practices.
As part of the campaign, participants took the Swacch City Heroes pledge and received saplings, reinforcing the event’s environmental message. GHMC officials said such programmes play a vital role in encouraging civic responsibility and building a greener city.
