Hyderabad: LB Nagar police on Sunday evening apprehended two individuals in possession of over one kilogram of ganja near the Savera Wines lane adjacent to LB Nagar metro station.
The accused, identified as Yangala Narendra (25), a car driver from Journalist Colony, Nizampet, and Kontham Nithin alias Chintu (22), a student from Indra Hills Colony, Kukatpally, were found carrying 1,182 grams of ganja. Police said both men, addicted to narcotics, sourced the contraband from Odisha and were allegedly involved in local distribution.
Officials seized the ganja and one mobile phone from the duo. Preliminary investigations suggest they were part of a wider network. Police have launched a manhunt for the main supplier believed to be operating from Odisha.
Both accused were produced before court and remanded to judicial custody.
