FST election checks intensify at Chillapalli checkpoint near district border

Hyderabad: The Flying Squad Teams (FST) election checks intensified on Friday as teams carried out sustained inspections in the run-up to local body polls. Officials halted vehicles at the Chillapalli checkpoint, located on the Nalgonda–Suryapet district border along the Kodad–Jadcherla national highway. The teams examined every vehicle passing through the post.

FST leader Chandramma said the Election Commission deployed flying squads to curb attempts by candidates to lure voters with cash, liquor or other goods. She said the teams moved along major routes to spot vehicles carrying such items and to prevent their distribution. Chandramma added that the drive aimed to ensure a fair electoral process.
