Four women from Asifabad district killed in road accident in Maharashtra

Hyderabad: Four women from Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district were killed in a road accident in Maharashtra late on Wednesday night. Police and family members confirmed this tragic news.

The accident occurred near Devada–Sondo when a car travelling back from Nagpur went out of control. It plunged off a bridge, causing the fatalities. The victims were returning after visiting a hospital in Nagpur for medical treatment.

According to local sources, Zakir, a resident of Nizamuddin Colony in Kagaznagar town, had travelled to Nagpur along with his family and relatives. While returning, the vehicle met with the fatal accident under unclear circumstances.

Those who died were identified as Zakir’s wife Salma Begum, his daughter Shabreen, and relatives Afgha Begum and Sahara. Two other occupants of the car sustained serious injuries in the mishap.

The injured were shifted to a private hospital in Chandrapur for treatment. Their condition was reported to be critical.

Police said further details regarding the accident were awaited.
