Evening showers lash Hyderabad; IMD warns of more rain ahead

Hyderabad: Several parts of Hyderabad witnessed moderate to heavy rain on Wednesday evening, leading to waterlogging and power outages in multiple areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for more rain in the next two hours.

Due to the sudden downpour, road conditions deteriorated in various localities as rainwater accumulated, causing traffic slowdowns and temporary disruptions in electricity supply.

Localities that recorded rainfall include Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Somajiguda, Khairatabad, Begumpet, Panjagutta, Kondapur, Madhapur, Mehdipatnam, Basheerbagh, Abids, Koti, Sultan Bazaar, Begum Bazaar, Himayatnagar, Narayanaguda, Lakdikapul, Bag Amberpet, Kachiguda, Nallakunta, Barkatpura, Musheerabad, Vidyanagar, Ramnagar, Osmania University, Bag Lingampally, Chikkadpally, RTC Cross Road, Gandhi Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Kawadiguda, Bholakpur, Dilsukhnagar, Saidabad, Champapet, Malakpet, Moosarambagh, and Chaderghat.

Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious and step out only if necessary due to the likelihood of continued rainfall.
