Hyderabad: Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) Chairman S. Mahendra Dev called on Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at his residence in Jubilee Hills on Saturday to discuss strategies for advancing the state’s development.
Revanth Reddy emphasised the importance of federal cooperation, stating that the country’s growth depends on the progress of its states. He said the government is prioritising infrastructure in Hyderabad and other urban centres, aiming to create employment opportunities for youth.
The Chief Minister outlined plans to promote both the industrial and service sectors, asserting that workforce readiness will be key to attracting companies. He highlighted upcoming infrastructure projects, including a regional ring road around Hyderabad and interconnected radial roads.
Reddy also raised concerns about the burden of high-interest loans taken by the previous administration, noting that debt servicing is straining the state’s revenue. He said the government is exploring ways to lower interest costs.
Principal Secretary (Finance) Sandeep Kumar Sultania was present during the meeting.
