HYDERABAD: Two accused in the recent murder case at a farmhouse in Dhansiri village under Mogudampally mandal have been arrested and remanded by the police.
The arrested individuals, identified as Mehtab Bisht and Khalil Shah, were produced before the media at Chiragpally police station in the presence of SI Rajender Reddy, CI Shivalingam, and DSP Rammohan Reddy.
According to officials, the victim, Mohammed Abbas Ali (25), was at the farmhouse with his friends Sheikh Akbar Ali, Hasan Ali, Babar, and Tillu, preparing food for a gathering. At that time, Khalil Shah and Mehtab Bisht arrived on a motorcycle and launched a brutal, indiscriminate attack on Abbas using machetes they had brought with them, killing him on the spot.
When Sheikh Akbar Ali tried to intervene, the attackers struck him in the face with a beer bottle, causing injuries. While fleeing, they intercepted a man named Shekhar, brandished an air gun and the murder weapons to threaten him, and stole his Shine motorcycle before escaping.
Investigations revealed that the motive behind the murder was a long-standing grudge. Khalil Shah had repeatedly been warned by the victim Abbas Ali to stop harassing his mother with obscene remarks and phone calls. However, when the harassment continued, Khalil allegedly decided to take revenge by killing him. He shared his plan with his friend Mehtab, and both conspired to carry out the murder. Upon learning that Abbas was at the farmhouse on the 6th of the month, they seized the opportunity to attack.
Police arrested the accused on Tuesday from outside Mehtab’s residence in Pogath Nagar, Zaheerabad town. DSP Rammohan Reddy warned that no matter how influential a criminal may be, they cannot escape the law. He also appreciated the efforts of SI K. Rajender Reddy, Head Constable Narsimhulu, and PCs Om Dev and Anand for their swift and effective investigation leading to the arrest.
