Telangana DGP inaugurates Bharosa Centre in Shamshabad

Hyderabad: Telangana Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy on Friday inaugurated a new Bharosa Centre at Shamshabad under the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate. The facility serves as a one-stop support hub for women and children facing violence or trauma.

Speaking at the launch event, DGP Shivadhar Reddy described Bharosa Centres as essential crisis-response platforms. “These centres ensure that no woman or child feels helpless during a crisis. From complaint to compensation, they offer full-spectrum support,” he said.

ADGP (Women Safety Wing) Charu Sinha, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, and other senior officers joined the event.

Centre to support 17 police jurisdictions

The Shamshabad Bharosa Centre will cover cases from 17 police station limits in the Rajendranagar and Shamshabad zones. These include Rajendranagar, Mailardevpally, Chevella, Shamshabad, RGIA, Shadnagar, and others.

The facility will be operated by an eight-member team, which includes legal, medical, and psychological professionals, as well as trained support staff. A Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector will oversee daily operations.

Bharosa network set to expand state-wide

Launched in 2016, the Bharosa initiative currently runs 33 centres across 24 districts and six Police Commissionerates. Each centre offers integrated legal assistance, psychological counselling, medical help, and support with accessing government compensation — particularly for victims under the POCSO Act.

DGP Shivadhar Reddy confirmed plans to establish Bharosa Centres in all districts of Telangana.

New facility backed by public-private collaboration

The Shamshabad Centre is the third under the Cyberabad Commissionerate. Its construction was sponsored by the Bangarutalli Foundation (BBG Group) and executed by P.V.N. Infra. BBG Director MV Mallikarjun Reddy, CEO Mukund Tavang, and other foundation members attended the function.

The event also saw participation from IPS officers Yogesh Goutam, Shaik Saleema, K. Srujana, and B. Rajesh. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming Telangana Police’s commitment to compassionate, victim-focused policing.
