Couple arrested for drug peddling in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Police arrested a couple along with two others for drug peddling in Hyderabad and seized multiple narcotic substances during searches in the Chikkadpally police station limits.

Special teams of the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing conducted the operation and took four persons into custody. Among them, three were drug peddlers, while one was identified as a consumer.

Police seized 22 grams of hydroponic ganja, 5 grams of MDMA, 5.5 grams of ecstasy pills, and six LSD blots from the accused.

Investigators identified one accused as Emmanuel, who worked in a private firm in Kondapur. Susmita, a software engineer, lived with him, police said. The couple allegedly sold drugs to fund a lavish lifestyle.

Drug peddling racket operated through dark web

Police said the accused procured drugs through the dark web. They made payments using cryptocurrency to avoid detection.

Investigators found that the couple worked with the main supplier, Sai Kumar. Together, they distributed drugs to select customers in the city.

Police registered a case and continued the investigation. Officials said they were working to trace additional links in the drug peddling network.
