Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday said the Congress party will win a majority of seats in the upcoming municipal elections, just as it did in the recent panchayat polls.
Speaking to the media, Bhatti said the government has made urban infrastructure, education, and healthcare top priorities. He added that the administration is progressing with equal focus on both welfare and development.
Congress municipal majority drive rooted in welfare and planning
Bhatti noted that the Congress government quickly issued long-pending ration cards after coming to power. To boost Telangana’s growth, he said, the state is following a three-pronged strategy—Cure, Pure, Rare.
Regarding candidate selection, Bhatti confirmed that names will be chosen through mutual agreement. He directed MLAs and ministers to handle the coordination at the local level.
He also announced the launch of a development blueprint titled Telangana Rising Vision–2047. The document outlines long-term goals across all sectors. Bhatti further stated that five of the six poll guarantees are already under active implementation.
Congress to take final call on alliances through TPCC chief
Bhatti said TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud will lead alliance talks and make final decisions after consulting with other parties. Responding to questions about the recent ministers’ meeting at Pragathi Bhavan, Bhatti dismissed reports of discord. He clarified that they met to discuss administrative matters during the Chief Minister’s absence.
Calling the media speculation “delusional,” he stressed that the Chief Minister, Deputy CM, and the Cabinet are working as a unified team. He added that he remains in constant consultation with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on all poll strategies.
Commenting on new entrants into the Congress fold, Bhatti said anyone who sincerely supports the party’s ideology and carries its flag is a true member. He affirmed that the party will ensure justice for all those who follow its rules and values.
