Hyderabad: Medak MP Raghunandan Rao on Wednesday criticised both the Congress and BRS. He stated they were “two sides of the same coin” and had failed the people of Telangana during the recent five-day Assembly session.
BJP MP slams Congress, BRS for Assembly conduct
Addressing reporters, Rao accused the ruling Congress of deliberately avoiding debate on crucial water issues. This included issues concerning Palamuru and Krishna regions. He alleged that nearly 20 Congress MLAs were absent when the Chief Minister addressed the House.
He further condemned the BRS, the principal opposition, for boycotting the session entirely. “The BRS got scared and ran away,” he remarked. Rao asserted that the party failed in its basic duty to hold the government accountable.
Rao praised BJP Legislature Party leader A. Maheshwar Reddy and other BJP MLAs for questioning the government effectively, despite their limited numbers. He urged the people and intellectuals of Telangana to give the BJP a chance to lead the state.
The MP also alleged that the Congress came to power primarily through defections. He called on the defected leaders to reflect on their decisions.
On the issue of movie ticket pricing, Rao accused the state government of partiality. He claimed higher ticket rates were selectively permitted for films of one actor, while denied to others. “There must be one rule for all films,” he said.
