Next three days cold wave alert issued for Telangana

Hyderabad: The weather department issued a cold wave alert for Telangana and asked people to stay cautious for the next three days as cold conditions intensified.

Officials said temperatures continued to fall across the state, increasing cold severity each day. On Tuesday, the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre recorded single-digit minimum temperatures in 28 districts.

The department also noted that five districts reported temperatures below 12 degrees Celsius. Sangareddy district recorded the lowest temperature in the state.

Cold wave alert as minimum temperatures fall sharply

Officials said Kohir in Sangareddy district recorded just 5.8 degrees Celsius, the lowest minimum temperature in Telangana. They added that Sangareddy, Adilabad, Asifabad, Nirmal and Medak districts continued to experience severe cold.

Meanwhile, the weather department warned that cold intensity would rise further across Telangana over the next three days. Therefore, it advised people to take precautions during early morning and night hours.

Officials urged residents, especially children and older people, to protect themselves from cold exposure, as low temperatures were expected to persist statewide.
