Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday reiterated the Congress government’s commitment to the welfare of journalists in Telangana. He assured that all concerns raised by the media community would be addressed within the scope of his responsibilities.

The assurance came during a meeting at the Secretariat, where a delegation from the Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) called on the Chief Minister to convey New Year greetings and launch the ‘2026 Media Diary’ published by the union.
TUWJ state president K. Virahat Ali appealed to the Chief Minister to announce dedicated welfare measures for journalists as a New Year gift. Revanth Reddy responded positively and promised to consider their requests.
Several senior media representatives participated in the meeting, including former IJU president Devulapalli Amar, TUWJ state general secretary K. Ramnarayana, IJU secretary Y. Narender Reddy, and National Executive Committee member K. Satyanarayana. Other attendees included TUWJ deputy general secretary Kalkuri Ramulu, secretaries V. Yadagiri and K. Srikanth Reddy, treasurer M. Venkat Reddy, and executive members B. Kiran Kumar and Ajitha.
Also present were Yusuf Babu from the Small and Medium Newspapers Association, K.N. Hari from the Photo Journalists Association, Ghaus Mohiuddin of the Urdu Journalists Federation, and Harish from the Video Journalists Association.
Later, the TUWJ delegation extended New Year greetings to Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.
Separately, Telangana Media Academy chairman K. Srinivas Reddy met both the Chief Minister and the Information Minister at the Secretariat to greet them for the New Year.
