CM Revanth orders early-morning cleanliness inspections

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday ordered early-morning inspections and prioritised sanitation in three newly created municipal corporations, warning that garbage anywhere in the city would not be tolerated.

Chairing a review of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department at the State Secretariat, the Chief Minister directed commissioners to begin early-morning cleanliness inspections from 6 am. He stressed that sanitation must receive top priority across municipal limits.

Revanth Reddy warned officials that they would not tolerate garbage accumulation in any part of the city. Therefore, he instructed field-level monitoring at daybreak to ensure prompt waste clearance. He said consistent early-morning cleanliness inspections would improve civic discipline and public confidence.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also reviewed revenue enhancement strategies. He suggested installing smart poles at major junctions and exploring multi-level parking facilities, particularly along Necklace Road. Moreover, he asked officials to strengthen advertisement revenue systems.

He questioned lower-than-expected income from advertisement boards. Consequently, he directed a comparative study of revenue models adopted in Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru. He also ordered strict action against advertisers causing revenue leakage.

Early-morning cleanliness inspections linked to urban reforms

Revanth Reddy instructed officials to reserve 10 percent of advertisement boards for government welfare campaigns. In addition, he called for adoption of a Unicode-based system for streetlight management. He emphasised park development across municipal corporations as part of broader urban reforms accompanying early-morning cleanliness inspections.

The Chief Minister directed officials to organise a one-day training programme for newly elected urban local body representatives. He said he would personally attend the session to guide them.

Chief Minister’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao and CM Secretary Manik Raj attended the meeting. HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed and Commissioners R V Karnan, Srijana and Vinaya Krishna Reddy were also present along with other senior officials.
