Hyderabad: A passenger auto driver from Perapalli village died after his vehicle plunged into a roadside canal on the national highway near Peddakaparti stage in Chityal mandal on Saturday morning. Police said the victim, Ravi, 36, was returning home after completing a trip to Chityal when the auto overturned and slipped into the canal.
Ravi suffered severe injuries in the fall. However, no one noticed the crash for some time, and he drowned in the water. Soon after, locals spotted the vehicle and informed Chityal police. Officers reached the location and opened an investigation. They said they are checking how the auto lost control and whether any roadside obstacles contributed to the fall.
Ravi drove a passenger auto to support his family. Despite living with a disability, he worked daily to provide for his wife, son and daughter.
Chityal police review accident stretch after auto plunges into canal
Investigators reviewed the accident site and spoke to nearby residents for details. Moreover, they assessed road conditions and visibility levels along the highway. The body went for post-mortem as part of routine legal procedure.
