Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy urged parents to enrol children in government schools, asserting that the state would upgrade them beyond private institutions.
Addressing a public meeting at Narmetta in Siddipet district, the Chief Minister said the government had begun major reforms in the education sector. He added that these changes aligned with current needs and aimed to strengthen public schooling.
He stated that more than one lakh trained teachers were working across 18,000 government schools. At the same time, he said the government had taken responsibility to revamp all institutions.
Chief Minister outlines government schools reform plan
He announced that the state would launch Telangana Public Schools from the next academic year. These schools would cover education from Nursery to Intermediate. In addition, he said a breakfast scheme would begin for students.
He stressed that government schools had better teachers than private institutions. Therefore, he urged parents to prefer public education over private options.
At the programme, the Chief Minister released Rythu Bharosa funds for farmers. He also inaugurated an oil palm factory at Narmetta and dedicated it to farmers. Besides, he launched multiple development works worth ₹775 crore in the district.
He said an engineering degree alone did not guarantee employment. However, he assured that students studying in ATCs would receive job opportunities. He underlined the need for skill-based education.
From the next academic year, ATC students would receive a monthly scholarship of ₹2,000. He encouraged students to become self-reliant and said talent would gain global recognition.
Several ministers attended the programme. These included Tummala Nageswara Rao, Damodar Rajanarsimha, Ponnam Prabhakar, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, and Vivek Venkataswamy. Advisor P Sudarshan Reddy, MPs Vem Narender Reddy and Raghunandan Rao, along with public representatives and senior officials, were also present.
