Case registered against Salman Khan over inflammatory posts in Jubilee Hills by-election

Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills by-election campaign gained intensity on Saturday as political parties ramped up their efforts after announcing their candidates. With major parties launching their campaigns, verbal clashes between leaders also escalated.

Election Commission keeps a close watch on the campaign

From the beginning, the Election Commission maintained strict supervision over the Jubilee Hills by-election process and campaign activities. In view of recent developments, officials increased monitoring of provocative speeches and social media posts made by contesting candidates.

A case was registered against candidate Salman Khan

The situation turned tense when the Borabanda Police registered a case against candidate Salman Khan for making inflammatory remarks and objectionable social media posts. Police acted following a complaint filed by election surveillance officers.

According to reports, the posts and comments made by Salman Khan allegedly contained religious references capable of disturbing communal harmony. The Election Commission’s complaint prompted immediate police action under multiple sections of law.

Officials said the content was removed from social media, and further investigation is in progress. They also warned that any future violations of the Model Code of Conduct would invite strict legal action.
