Major accident averted as bus veers off NH-44 near Manavapadu

Hyderabad: A serious mishap was narrowly avoided early Sunday on NH-44 near Manavapadu in Jogulamba Gadwal district. A private bus from Madhavi Travels veered off the road, but all 27 passengers walked away without injuries. This NH-44 bus accident could have been devastating.

Car brakes suddenly, bus swerves off road

The bus was heading from Anantapur to Hyderabad when the incident occurred near the Manavapadu stage. A car ahead of the bus braked suddenly, forcing the bus driver to swerve. He lost control, and the vehicle hit roadside barriers before sliding into a tree, making this NH-44 accident a close call.

Locals, who saw the speeding bus veer off, feared the worst. Many rushed to help the passengers.

Emergency door used for safe evacuation

The front door jammed on impact, causing panic inside. However, the emergency exit opened quickly. All passengers exited safely through it, averting a more serious NH-44 bus accident scenario.

Driver Prasad and cleaner Devanand said the bus left Anantapur at 10:30 PM. The accident took place between 2 and 3 AM. “No one was hurt—not even a minor injury. Everyone is fine,” said Prasad. This calm outcome is rare in bus accidents on NH-44.

Passengers and bystanders breathed a sigh of relief after the safe evacuation.
