Hyderabad: BRS legislators on Monday demanded immediate release of the full ₹1 crore ex-gratia promised to the families of the Sigachi blast victims, accusing the government of delaying the aid despite assurances.
Sangareddy MLA Chintha Prabhakar, Zaheerabad MLA K. Manik Rao, and other party leaders submitted memorandums separately to District Collector P. Pravinya and Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj in Sangareddy.
They pointed out that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had publicly committed to a ₹1 crore ex-gratia package for each bereaved family. However, five months after the incident, each family has only received ₹25 lakh from the company and ₹1 lakh from the State government. The additional ₹2 lakh ex-gratia promised by the Centre has not been disbursed either, Prabhakar said.

Prabhakar criticised officials for neglecting their responsibility and urged them to ensure that the victims’ families receive the remaining amount without further delay. MLA Manik Rao added that the BRS would continue its protest until the government fulfilled its commitment.
