BRS to meet Governor over Singareni scam allegations against Congress

Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will meet Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Tuesday to demand swift action. They describe a large-scale corruption scandal involving the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). These Singareni scam allegations have sparked widespread political debate in the state.

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao will lead the delegation. The group plans to submit a detailed representation to the Governor. The party seeks a full-fledged investigation into alleged financial irregularities within SCCL. They claim the Congress-led government systematically misuses public funds.

BRS accuses Chief Minister and cabinet of direct involvement

According to the BRS, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, his family members, the Deputy Chief Minister, and several other ministers played key roles in the alleged corruption. The party claims to possess documentary evidence. It will include this evidence in its submission to support the Singareni scam allegations.

BRS leaders insist that those involved must resign immediately. They argue that such individuals have no constitutional or moral right to remain in office. Moreover, the escalating controversy is expected to mount pressure on the Congress government to respond to growing public concern over corruption.

BRS delegation to press demands with formal protest

Several BRS MPs, MLAs, and senior party leaders will join the delegation. In addition to submitting their representation, they will register a formal protest during their meeting with the Governor. This will reinforce the party’s stand on the issue.
