BRS leader alleges political vendetta in police notice to KCR

Hyderabad: Senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Shaik Abdullah Sohail on Saturday accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of launching a political vendetta against KCR, claiming that the actions were targeted directly at the former Chief Minister.

Speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad, Sohail alleged that police officers deliberately humiliated KCR while issuing notices in an ongoing case. He claimed that despite KCR personally providing his residential address, officials went to another location late at night and pasted the notice on a gate where KCR was not present, which Sohail described as part of a political vendetta against KCR.

Calling it a violation of basic democratic values, Sohail described the incident as a calculated attempt to discredit the Leader of the Opposition. He said, “KCR garu led the fight for Telangana statehood. This act insults both his legacy and public sentiment.” Moreover, many now believe that these actions indicate a political vendetta against KCR.

Sohail also cited legal norms for older citizens. “The law requires that people over 65 be questioned at home. KCR garu is 70. Ignoring this is either negligence or intentional misuse of the police force,” he said.

He accused the Congress government of trying to suppress opposition voices through intimidation. Such actions, he warned, expose the ruling party’s insecurity and political immaturity. In summary, there are growing concerns about a political vendetta against KCR.

Despite the criticism, Sohail affirmed that the BRS trusts the judiciary and the Constitution. He said the party would challenge and expose every baseless case filed against opposition leaders.

He added, “The people of Telangana are watching. Today it’s KCR garu—tomorrow it could be anyone who speaks against the government.”
