Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Monday accused the BRS of plotting to destabilise the Congress government using “commission money” earned from the Kaleshwaram project. He claimed the party is deploying its ill-gotten wealth for political sabotage.
Addressing a crowd during his padayatra in Rehmat Nagar, Jubilee Hills constituency, Ponguleti criticised K.T. Rama Rao’s recent assertion that a new government could emerge in 500 days. “How can they talk about forming a new government when ours hasn’t even completed two years?” he questioned.
Minister highlights Congress achievements, expands Indiramma Housing
He urged voters to compare the Congress government’s developmental record in the past year to BRS’s 10-year tenure. Ponguleti asked the public to give a decisive mandate to Congress candidate Naveen Yadav in the upcoming elections.
Reaffirming the party’s commitment to the people with low-income, he said the Congress government will complete its full term. He also announced the expansion of the Indiramma Housing scheme to benefit urban families, extending beyond its rural focus.
Political crossover: BRS, BJP workers join Congress
In a display of shifting loyalties, more than 200 BRS activists, 200 auto drivers, and several BJP-affiliated women workers joined the Congress. Ponguleti personally welcomed them by draping Congress scarves and later took a short ride in an auto driven by Auto Union president Satish.
