Hyderabad: BJP MP K. Laxman on Wednesday alleged that ministers within the Congress-led Telangana government are actively working to bring BRS and Congress together, while Chief Minister Revanth Reddy remains unable to control his cabinet.
Speaking to reporters, Laxman claimed that Revanth Reddy was taking out his frustration on the BJP instead of addressing non-cooperation from his own ministers. He said both Congress and BRS were aligning their political strategies while maintaining a façade of rivalry.
Laxman accused both parties of committing injustice to Telangana in the matter of water allocations. He said they had revived the Banakacharla issue purely to stoke sentiment and divert attention from governance failures.
Terming it “diversion politics,” Laxman said the Banakacharla project was being used as a distraction. He advised Chief Ministers Revanth Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu to hold direct talks to resolve the inter-state water disputes. If that fails, he added, the Centre would have to step in as mediator.
