Hyderabad: A shooting in Pochram on Wednesday evening triggered panic when a man named Ibrahim fired at cow vigilante Sonu, also known as Prashanth, and escaped.
BJP leaders visit the injured vigilante
After receiving the alert, BJP State President Ramchander Rao and MP Etela Rajender rushed to Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad. They met Sonu, who suffered bullet injuries, and enquired about his treatment.
Speaking to reporters, Ramchander Rao said the attack was alarming. “AIMIM leaders were moving cows in Hyderabad’s Pochram. When Sonu stopped them, Ibrahim opened fire. Sonu is now under treatment at Yashoda Hospital,” he said.
BJP demands action over the Pochram shooting incident
Ramchander Rao said such communal attacks show the collapse of Telangana’s law and order system. He urged the government to arrest the attackers and impose strict punishment. “If the Congress government cannot ensure Hindu safety, it loses its moral right to stay in power,” he warned.
