Hyderabad: BJP Telangana spokesperson N V Subhash on Sunday demanded the immediate release of CCTV footage from the seizure room at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Nampally. He alleged a deep conspiracy to destroy critical evidence ahead of court proceedings in high-profile cases.
Addressing a press conference at the party’s state office, Subhash said the Congress government must make public the footage from the moment the fire broke out. “Every corner of this high-security forensic facility is covered by cameras. The government must also release a list of all evidence lost in the fire,” he said.
Subhash described the FSL fire as a first-of-its-kind incident in the lab’s 52-year history. He rejected the idea that it was accidental. “The fire started in the seizure room, which stored hard disks, pen drives, DNA samples, voice records, and key digital evidence including material from the phone tapping case and a former Chief Minister’s voice tests,” he said.
BJP blames Congress-BRS nexus, seeks central investigation
He alleged that the fire was timed to prevent evidence from reaching court. “As hearings approach, this fire appears intended to erase everything. It seems Revanth Reddy is repaying his ‘Guru Dakshina’ to the KCR family. Just as BRS once shielded Revanth in the Vote for Note case, Congress is now protecting the same leaders by destroying evidence,” Subhash said.
He demanded a probe by central agencies to expose the full scope of the incident. “Only a neutral inquiry can uncover the truth,” he stated.
Subhash also accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and BRS working president K T Rama Rao of frustration over BJP’s rising support in the ongoing municipal and corporation elections. He alleged that both leaders were spreading lies and attacking BJP leaders to distract from public sentiment.
Taking a swipe at the CM, Subhash mocked his foreign study tours. “Even after attending courses at Harvard, Revanth continues to speak like a street-level leader,” he said. He admitted that the BJP was seeking votes in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name. “What’s wrong with that? Modi is working tirelessly for the country’s future under the ‘Develop India-2047’ mission,” he said.
Subhash accused the Congress of failing to deliver on its six guarantees and 420 promises. He further criticised the CM for travelling abroad while ignoring state governance.
He added that neither Congress nor BRS had responded to the BJP’s chargesheet on their alleged corruption. In contrast, he said, BJP had released its manifesto and development plan for the municipalities. “A pro-BJP wave is sweeping the state. We are confident of a record-breaking victory,” he said.
