HYDERABAD: The Bharat Summit 2025, scheduled for April 25 and 26 at HICC Novotel in Hyderabad, will serve as a global platform focused on peace, non-violence, justice, and investment, announced Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, and AICC leader Gurdeep Singh Sappal.
The leaders, who reviewed the summit preparations on Thursday, said the event draws inspiration from the non-alignment philosophy of Jawaharlal Nehru and is being conducted under the ideological guidance of Rahul Gandhi.
Addressing the press, Bhatti Vikramarka stated that over 450 delegates from more than 100 countries, including heads of government, parliamentarians, scholars, corporate representatives, intellectuals, and investors, are expected to participate. A special Telangana pavilion will showcase the state’s development initiatives, welfare schemes, and investment-friendly environment. “We believe Telangana can become a role model for many countries,” he said.
As part of the summit, delegates will be taken on a field visit to observe the implementation of the NREGS (National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme) on Saturday morning, followed by a visit to Indira Mahila Shakti Bazaar at Shilpakala Vedika in the evening.
Rahul Gandhi is expected to join the summit after visiting Pahalgam in Kashmir, the site of a recent terror attack. Condemning the attack, Uttam Kumar Reddy said it was an attempt to destabilise Kashmir’s economy. He urged unity across political lines and acknowledged lapses in security and intelligence, while supporting the government’s response.
Gurdeep Singh Sappal noted that attacks on democracy and the Constitution have intensified in recent years. In light of the Kashmir incident, many of the summit’s planned cultural and entertainment programmes have been scaled down, he said, adding that key resolutions will be passed during the conference.
Telangana PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud said the summit will present Telangana as a global role model, especially in terms of inclusive growth and governance.
Thought Leaders and Panels
The summit will feature keynote speeches and panel discussions involving senior Congress leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Salman Khurshid, and K.C. Venugopal, along with international delegates.
Congress leaders Meenakshi Natarajan, Bhatti Vikramarka, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Gurdeep Singh, Sridhar Babu, Mahesh Kumar Goud, Vishwanath, Rajagopal Reddy, and Madhu Yaskhi Goud inspected the venue and unveiled the official summit poster on Thursday.
The main stage at the venue will display a statue of Mahatma Gandhi, while portraits of more than 40 national leaders including Bhagat Singh, Subhas Chandra Bose, Maulana Azad, and Dr. Rajendra Prasad have been installed throughout the hall.
Delegates from various countries began arriving in Hyderabad on Thursday and were welcomed at the airport by government advisor Harkara Venugopal Rao and MP Chamal Kiran Kumar Reddy.
