Bharat Future City to generate 13 lakh jobs, says Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad: Telangana Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Tuesday announced that Bharat Future City would be developed as a zero-carbon global hub, aimed at generating 13 lakh jobs across high-growth sectors.

He made the announcement during the Telangana Rising Global Summit, where he introduced the project as part of the theme “Bharat Future City, as a Magnet for $3 Trillion Telangana.”

Six specialised districts across 13,500 acres

Spanning 13,500 acres, Bharat Future City will consist of six urban districts dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, Health City, Entertainment, Sports, Data Centres, and global-standard Higher Education. These districts will also include research hubs, green pharma facilities, manufacturing clusters, and entertainment zones.

To support the city’s workforce, the government plans to build residential townships for nine lakh people. Leading construction firms have already been engaged for the development.

Data centre works set to begin by February

According to Sridhar Babu, 400 acres have been allocated exclusively for data centre infrastructure. Construction is scheduled to begin by the end of February. Meanwhile, the Young India Skills University will start operations within the next month, adding further momentum to the project.

Additionally, the entertainment district will feature international-standard convention centres, adventure parks, and luxury hotels, the Minister noted.

He emphasised that Bharat Future City would not only be an architectural statement but also a model for sustainable mobility. Futuristic transport systems and dense urban forestry will help meet long-term ecological and logistical needs.

Wildlife centre and green clusters included in masterplan

Further outlining the city’s green credentials, Sridhar Babu said the Reliance Foundation will establish Vantara, a wildlife conservation centre, as part of the project.

Moreover, every drop of rain will be harvested through advanced systems to ensure zero runoff and long-term groundwater security. The city will also feature innovation clusters dedicated to life sciences and electric vehicle development.

He added that Bharat Future City reflects Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s vision of positioning Telangana as a future-ready global economy.
