Hyderabad: As part of Bonalu festivities, the BC Welfare Department of Telangana will organise a five-day exhibition showcasing crafts and products made by artisans from backward classes. The event will run from June 25 to 29, 2025, at the HMDA Grounds beside the Ambedkar statue at Tank Bund, Hyderabad.
Minister for Transport and BC Welfare, Ponnam Prabhakar, announced that the BC artisans craft exhibition aims to highlight the skills and heritage of BC artisans and promote their livelihood.
The exhibition will feature pottery made by Kummari artisans, a ‘Neera’ stall by the Goud community, bamboo items by Medari craftsmen, handlooms like Pochampally Ikat, Gadwal and Narayanpet sarees, beadwork items, and a variety of other products made by various BC groups.
Alongside these, Telangana traditional food and fish-based dishes prepared by Bestha community members will also be available for purchase.
The BC artisans exhibition will be open to the public daily from 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM. Entry is free for all visitors.
The BC Welfare Department has urged citizens to visit, enjoy the exhibition, and support BC artisans by purchasing their crafts.
