HYDERABAD: BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay, launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, accusing them of forming an “unholy alliance” to protect each other and bury investigations into corruption cases from the previous BRS government.
Speaking to media persons on Tuesday, Bandi Sanjay alleged that despite earlier claims by CM Revanth Reddy regarding massive corruption in projects like Kaleshwaram, electricity purchases, the Dharani land scam, phone tapping, Formula E race, and farmhouse drug cases involving the KCR family, the current Congress government was now deliberately weakening these cases to shield those involved.
He said Revanth Reddy and KTR had become close allies, working together to suppress inquiries into the misdeeds of the BRS regime. Sanjay further claimed that while the Congress promised six guarantees and several other reforms, it was staging hollow dramas in and outside the Assembly instead of holding BRS accountable.
He also criticised CM Revanth Reddy for allegedly attempting to sell land belonging to Hyderabad Central University (HCU) while publicly pretending to oppose the move. He claimed that KTR was secretly extending full support to these efforts, revealing what he called their long-standing covert friendship.
Bandi Sanjay cited their joint participation in the recent delimitation meeting held under Tamil Nadu CM Stalin and said the duo were also collaborating on planning an upcoming public meeting in Hyderabad, including deciding on invitees. He further noted that both Congress and BRS MPs had voted against the Centre on the Waqf Board Amendment Bill in Parliament, showing coordinated action.
He alleged that in the recent Hyderabad local MLC election, both Congress and BRS refrained from fielding candidates to ensure AIMIM’s win. In previous MLC polls too, KTR allegedly withdrew BRS from the contest to protect Revanth Reddy’s political position.
Calling it shameful, Bandi Sanjay said despite voters in Telangana soundly rejecting both Congress and BRS in MP and MLC elections—particularly in Karimnagar, Medak, Nizamabad, and Adilabad constituencies—they continued to focus only on damaging the BJP.
Referring to the ongoing protests by BJP over the HCU land issue, Sanjay accused Revanth Reddy and KTR of conspiring against the BJP and trying to divert attention from their wrongdoings.
He challenged Revanth Reddy to prove his integrity by writing to the Centre and demanding a CBI inquiry into the HCU land deals. “This is not KCR or Revanth Reddy’s government at the Centre—it is Narendra Modi’s, which stands for integrity and justice,” he declared.
He questioned whether the Congress or BRS had the courage to demand a CBI probe, and urged them to make their stand clear to the people of Telangana.
