Bandaru Dattatreya says Alai Balai promotes unity beyond political and regional differences

Hyderabad: Former governor Bandaru Dattatreya said Alai Balai unity brought people together regardless of caste, religion, political affiliation or regional differences. He thanked everyone who attended the event and urged them to put aside disagreements and exchange festive greetings.

Dattatreya said the programme aimed to strengthen friendship and social harmony. Although people may hold different opinions or support opposing political parties, he encouraged them to meet warmly during festivals and share the celebrations. In this way, he said, Alai Balai offered a platform for people to bridge their differences.

He described Vijayadashami as a symbol of good triumphing over evil. Accordingly, he expressed hope that the festival would strengthen brotherhood and harmony across society. He also stressed that festivals should deliver positive messages rather than remain limited to celebrations.

Alai Balai unity promotes cooperation between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

Turning to relations between the two Telugu states, Dattatreya expressed hope that Telangana and Andhra Pradesh would develop through mutual cooperation. He called for continued friendship between their people and urged them to pursue progress without regional divisions.

Meanwhile, this year’s Alai Balai programme carried the slogan “Nasha Mukt Bharat, Viksit Bharat”, he said. The campaign focused on building a drug-free India and advancing the country’s development.

Dattatreya emphasised the need to raise public awareness about these goals. Furthermore, he said festivals could serve as platforms for spreading messages that benefit society.

He urged people to respect diversity and strengthen mutual affection. By setting aside differences and working together, he said, everyone could contribute to social progress.
