Hyderabad, February 4: The Telangana Assembly session, convened to discuss caste census and implementation of SC categorisation, was adjourned within a minute on Tuesday.
The session, which commenced at 11:00 AM, was adjourned within minutes after Legislative Affairs Minister Sridhar Babu requested more time, citing an ongoing Cabinet meeting and the need to prepare subject notes. Accepting his request, the Speaker adjourned the session for 2:00 PM.
Meanwhile, BRS MLAs T Harish Rao and Ganguula Kamalakar remarked that such an abrupt adjournment was unprecedented in Assembly history. He accused the Congress government of failing to hold a Cabinet meeting before discussing critical issues.
Harish Rao questioned the Congress government’s preparedness, stating, “When will they be ready?” He remarked that even when in opposition, the Congress lacked preparation, and now, in power, the situation remains unchanged.
