Hyderabad: The Asifnagar Police arrested an 18-year-old man and apprehended a juvenile boy on charges of robbing a local resident at knifepoint in the Zeba Bagh area. The victim, a car driver named Imdadullah, suffered bleeding injuries to his right hand during the robbery, which took place in the early hours of June 9.
According to the police, the arrested accused Syed Rehan (18) and his juvenile accomplice, both residents of Mallepally, Hyderabad, were friends who had planned to rob pedestrians to fund their lavish lifestyle and bad habits. On the night of the incident, they targeted Imdadullah as he was walking alone after parking his car.
The accused initially approached the victim asking for directions. When he responded, they threatened him at knifepoint. When the victim refused to hand over his phone, Rehan attacked him with a knife, causing a bleeding injury. The juvenile then restrained the victim while Rehan snatched his Oppo Reno 8T mobile phone.
The duo had arrived in the area on a stolen two-wheeler Activa, which the juvenile had stolen earlier from Rajender Nagar with an associate named Faqru.
Following the complaint filed by the victim, police formed special teams, scanned CCTV footage, and used other technical analysis to trace and arrest the suspects on June 11. They seized the knife used in the attack and recovered the stolen mobile phone.
The case was cracked under the supervision of DCP G. Chandra Mohan, Additional DCP Iqbal Siddique, ACP Asifnagar K. Vijay Srinivas, Inspector N. Anand, Additional Inspector D. Raju, and SI K.
