Hyderabad: BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind on Monday accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi of institutional corruption and political irrelevance, targeting the party’s top leadership and dismissing its chances in the upcoming elections. He was speaking to reporters in Nizamabad ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the district.
Reacting to visuals from a recent BRS protest in Siddipet, BJP MP Arvind mocked the presence of placards reading “Rappa Rappa” and banners claiming “BRS 3.0 Loading,” describing the event as political posturing. He questioned the logic of projecting a third political reboot for a party that, according to him, had hollowed out state institutions during its decade in power.
BJP MP Arvind said that beyond Harish Rao’s stronghold in Siddipet, BRS has no serious electoral footing left. “He might hold on to that one seat. The rest of the state has moved on,” he said. He predicted defeats for both KCR and KTR, and claimed that Kavitha’s political career was already on the decline. He added that internal moves by KTR to sideline Kavitha had only further weakened the party.
The BJP MP demanded legal action against the family: KCR over the Kaleshwaram project, Kavitha in the Delhi liquor case, and KTR in connection with phone tapping and the Formula-E project. He warned Chief Minister Revanth Reddy that failure to pursue these cases would have consequences. “If they aren’t jailed, Revanth’s political life will end,” he said.
He also criticised Revanth Reddy for inconsistency, accusing the Chief Minister of posturing during the day and compromising by evening. “You can’t threaten in the morning and negotiate at night. The Congress won’t survive like that,” he said.
Dharmapuri Arvind confirmed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be in Nizamabad on June 29 to inaugurate the Turmeric Board office. He said the visit marks a new chapter for turmeric farmers. A public meeting and unveiling of a statue of former leader D. Srinivas will also be held the same day at the local polytechnic grounds.
