Hyderabad: Adluri Laxman on Saturday assumed office as Telangana’s Minister for SC, ST, Minority Welfare and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
The swearing-in took place at the state Secretariat. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Ministers Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Vakiti Srihari were present and congratulated Laxman on his new role.
Speaking after taking charge, Laxman said his focus would be on advancing the welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and minorities in the state.
Laxman’s induction followed the recent cabinet expansion in which Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy and Vakiti Srihari also joined the state cabinet. Srihari has been assigned the Sports, Youth Services, and Animal Husbandry portfolios, while Vivek received the Labour and Mines departments.
The latest appointments bring the total number of ministers in the Telangana cabinet to 15.
